Privacy
This page sets out, item by item, what Vertical Screen learns about the people who read it. In short: very little. The catalogue has no user accounts, no newsletter, no comment fields and no advertising, and it embeds no third-party analytics. It records series made by other companies and has no part in producing them.
Server log entries
Our web server writes one entry per request, holding the IP address, the user-agent string, the requested URL, the referring URL and a timestamp. These entries keep the catalogue online, help us investigate abuse and let us count page views. They are neither sold nor shared for marketing.
Cloudflare
Requests arrive by way of Cloudflare, a delivery and security network. To serve and cache pages and to block attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request headers under its own privacy terms.
Visit signal
A cached page can be answered by Cloudflare without reaching our server, so every page carries a tiny script. On your first click, tap, key press or turn of the mouse wheel, it sends a single request to /mark that carries three values: which entry or list you are reading, the hostname of whatever site sent you here (blank when there is none), and the page's age in milliseconds. It fires at most once per page view, and we use it to separate human readers from automated traffic.
Video players
Pressing play makes your browser ask the distributing platform's servers for the episode, so those servers see your IP address and browser details. Entry pages also register a compact service worker of our own. It steps in only for series packaged as archives, passing the requested slice of the episode to the player, and it keeps no information about you.
Clipboard
The continue page shows an unlock code for some series. The code is written to your clipboard at the moment you press that page's button and at no other time. Vertical Screen never reads the clipboard.
Outbound affiliate links
Links to full series may be affiliate links that earn us a commission. The platform you land on may note that you came from Vertical Screen, and its own privacy policy governs what happens there.
