After proving his strength to Pope Pari, Percy refuses the papacy and travels to Crow Territory seeking his origins. He reunites with his sister at the besieged Cohen household, where the Ross clan attacks. His mother reveals his true heritage and urges escape, but Percy stays and defeats invaders Brienne and his daughter Fiona. While escorting Mia of the Outflow Church, the fallen mage Cru mutates Fiona into an ever-stronger evil dragon. The dragon nearly kills Percy until he awakens the Sun God's blessing, transforms into a seraph, heals the mortally wounded Mia, and slays Fiona.
