Ophelia abandoned her academic career to marry wealthy Clyde and raise their five-year-old son Felix. She later uncovered that Clyde had secretly wed her best friend Eleanor and fabricated a car crash and coma to take Eleanor on a romantic trip. The betrayal escalated when Clyde arranged for a venomous snake to bite Felix, creating a desperate need for rare Rh-negative blood that Eleanor refused to provide. Ophelia saved Felix at enormous personal cost, filed for divorce, and surrendered all marital assets to secure sole custody. Clyde continued to favor Eleanor and later endangered Felix again by handing him to human traffickers on a psychic's advice. Ophelia fled the country with her son and finalized the divorce abroad. Clyde eventually tracked them down, but his attempt to force a reconciliation led to his arrest. After his release, Eleanor burned down his family home, killing his parents and leaving him bankrupt. Ophelia returned to scientific research and built a new life with Felix and archaeologist Darian.
