Prometheus assumes human form as Ignis to fulfill a vow to his follower Montgomery, joining New York's Burke family as a son-in-law. For three years he covertly sustains their business empire while enduring relentless humiliation from his wife Camille. When the term ends, she forces him to drink foot-washing water, prompting his immediate departure. The Burke Group collapses overnight as partners flee and shares crash. Camille loses sixty billion to a scheme orchestrated by her ex Roland, and her mother Jessica takes the fall for resulting crimes. Ignis later recovers the stolen funds and apprehends the swindlers, driven solely by duty rather than affection. Years afterward, he and his apprentice Helena encounter Camille running a modest diner with her mother, just as an urgent summons calls him to a dying believer.
