The protagonist married hockey captain Lucas Bellmont after graduation. For three years he stayed cold and distant. Then he suddenly pursued her constantly, saying he wanted a child. She believed his coldness had ended. At a gala she told Clara, Lucas's adopted sister and her best friend. Clara ran away in tears. Lucas turned pale, shouted at her, and left. She followed him and found the two locked in an embrace. Lucas said he only married her because of Clara, and that he touched her only because she was pregnant. He explained they would make her have the baby quickly, swap it with Clara's child, and raise that child as their heir. She did not cry or argue. She called her lawyer for a divorce agreement.
