New York pickpocket Lara steals a silver ring that grafts itself to her finger, creating a marital pact with a Death God who has lost his memory. The deity operates under a curse requiring a life for every soul he rescues, forcing the two into uneasy cohabitation. As buried memories resurface, Lara discovers she carries the reincarnated essence of the god's beloved from a century past, while the ring is revealed as his own handcrafted vow.
