Los Angeles heir Sean Xiao and Howe Group heiress Eleanor Howe seal their bond with a splittable sapphire brooch. A car accident wipes Eleanor's memory; she rebuilds as Nora Hayes in a working-class district and gives birth to their daughter Wendy in isolation. Eight years later, Sean accuses Wendy of theft during a cemetery encounter, triggering a bitter dispute. When Nora falls critically ill, Wendy pawns half the brooch, forcing a reunion. Sean's grandmother Vivian commissions a falsified DNA report to deny paternity, but cousin Hayley, a forensic anthropologist, preserves the original samples and secures independent confirmation that Wendy is Sean's child. Vivian and rival heiress Selina then deploy criminal networks to orchestrate kidnapping, illegal detention, and online smear campaigns. Sean collaborates with LAPD and the FBI, culminating in a public showdown at an engagement banquet, a fire rescue, and a hostage standoff that exposes the conspiracy. Selina and fixer Todd are arrested, Vivian faces judicial inquiry, and Howe chairman Richard accepts legal accountability. The narrative centers on the collision of lost identity, a fractured heirloom, and a grandmother's ruthless manipulation against a child's legitimacy.
