His carelessness traps the child inside a subzero refrigerated truck. A passing veteran hears the cries, forces the door open at personal risk, and pulls the freezing girl to safety. Rather than express gratitude, the husband falsely accuses the veteran of stealing the vehicle and demands payment. As the wife learns the truth, she allies with the veteran to save her daughter. The husband eventually realizes his own child was the victim, but the veteran has already donated blood to keep the girl alive.
