Ian Colt and Sean Judd in a master-apprentice deception
Jade Sect cultivation and Sky Realm rise
Ian Colt trains for 20 years at the Jade Sect and reaches the Sky Realm. This rapid rise places him at a level where his mentor considers his instruction complete. The compressed timeline highlights the sect's focus on swift advancement and establishes Ian as an exceptional disciple before the deception begins.
Sean Judd sends Ian back to the mortal realm
Sean Judd believes nothing remains to teach Ian and tricks him into leaving for the mortal realm. This setup uses the familiar trope of a master who removes a talented student once training ends. The deception creates distance between the mentor's realm and Ian's next challenge, shifting power away from the Sky Realm.
Jim Cole, Sue Cole, and the mortal crisis
Ian meets Jim Cole, whose life is in danger. Three skilled doctors cannot save him, leaving Sue Cole desperate. Ian succeeds where they fail. This brief plot thread grounds the story in mortal stakes after the sect setting, contrasting medical limitation with Ian's ability and introducing a personal obligation in the lower realm.
