After years of blindness, Athena undergoes a procedure that restores her vision. The first reality she confronts is a years-long secret romance between her boyfriend and her closest friend, conducted while she was entirely dependent on them. Rather than confront the pair or create a spectacle, she internalizes the devastation and maintains a composed silence. As fireworks mark the arrival of the new year, she makes a deliberate choice to end the deception and walk away from the life she knew, prioritizing her own dignity over the fractured relationships.
