Lainey and Odette refuse a predetermined narrative that demands they surrender everything for men who view them as possessions. They orchestrate a shared disappearance, faking their deaths to walk away from families and fiancés who treat them as pawns. The plan succeeds, granting them years of autonomous life beyond surveillance. That peace fractures when figures from their former world reappear, forcing the women to confront the script they believed they had destroyed. Survival was only the beginning; genuine liberation now requires the courage to choose their own love, life, and future on their own terms.
