Maria awakens in a locked ward with the number 43 carved into her wrist and no memory of her past. By daylight the building masquerades as a normal sanatorium, but nightfall floods its corridors with the undead. A stranger named Ethan insists she must flee before sunrise, because each dawn erases her mind and restarts the cycle. Despite the forced amnesia, Maria instinctively searches for her daughter Lily. Exploration reveals the facility is a covert laboratory and that Maria herself is a cloned test subject who has died and repeated this nightmare countless times. After they are captured in restricted zones, the head nurse plans surgery to wipe Maria's consciousness entirely, prompting her 43rd escape attempt to break the eternal loop.
