Baby Ella is born into House Valerius with the supreme Pure Gold Bloodline, marking her as future queen of the matriarchal magic clan. Her aunt Morgan bribes a priest to declare her a clan-destroying curse, and her grandmother orders execution by fire. Bram, a despised janitor called foolish, rushes into the flames and rescues Ella, leaving his hands permanently scarred. A dark seal then locks Ella's magic, reducing her royal pendant to charred slag. Six years later, powerless Ella is treated as magic-less trash at the Magic Academy. Her biological brother Julian beats her, her mother Duchess Octavia smashes her against the sacred blood-testing stone, and Bram is severely injured protecting her. After Ella jumps into an icy lake to earn medicine money, the water cleans her Star Pendant and reveals a blue glow. When her supreme magic finally breaks the seal, her family will face the truth of their bloody lies.
