A visible countdown of one hundred days materializes above adopted daughter Vivienne, sending the entire household into a frenzy of compensatory devotion. The mother spends nights weeping while the father enlists the city's most renowned physicians. Brother Luca assembles travel itineraries covering every destination Vivienne ever mentioned, and young Sofia surrenders her concealed candy stash. United by the belief that they must resolve all of Vivienne's regrets before the timer expires, the family lavishes attention on her. Meanwhile, the biological daughter narrates from the margins, unacknowledged and overlooked as the household's focus narrows entirely onto the adopted sister's remaining time.
