Twenty-four-year-old Claire races to her family farm expecting to evacuate her seventy-eight-year-old grandmother Agnes from the undead siege consuming the city. Instead, she discovers Agnes calmly dispatching zombies with a shovel and simmering soup, treating the collapse of civilization as a minor disruption. The elder woman immediately begins drilling the terrified young refugees who have arrived at the property into disciplined fighters. As Claire observes this transformation, she realizes the true threat facing them is not the shuffling horde outside the gates, but the relentless advance of time wearing down Agnes herself.
