Ximena and Preston planned a calm seaside graduation trip until Blair Hayes insisted on an Arizona-to-Utah road itinerary. Ximena rearranged every booking to accommodate the change. On departure morning Blair took the front seat, forcing carsick Ximena into the back. At a rest stop Ximena stepped out for medication and the vehicle drove away without her. Preston declined to return, and Blair later confessed she had watched Ximena exit and deliberately stayed silent. Ximena flew to Porto Cielo alone and established a slow-travel routine by the ocean. Half a year later she stands self-sufficient while Preston attempts reconciliation.
