Nora discovers her husband Graham consistently sacrifices their six-year-old daughter Ellie's safety and well-being to prioritize his childhood friend Paige and Paige's daughter Mia. During a severe storm, Graham abandons Ellie to rescue Paige and Mia. Later, he gives Ellie's critical fever medication to Mia and falsely accuses Nora of fabricating their daughter's 104-degree temperature. The situation escalates when Nora finds glass shards hidden in Ellie's ballet shoe, placed there by Graham to sabotage her performance and ensure Mia's victory.
