Lance faces the Rhodes family in The Falcon's Wrath
Lance and the military alliance
Lance began as a retired top agent before imprisonment. Military confirmation of his identity led to his rescue and later support against the Rhodes family. This alliance gives him institutional backing rather than leaving him isolated. The trope of state power supporting a lone operative creates tension between personal revenge and official authority.
The Rhodes family kidnapping
The Rhodes family kidnapped Lance's family members. His rescue effort relied on military support rather than solitary action. Placing his relatives in danger shifts the conflict from professional rivalry to personal stakes. This setup raises questions about how far a trained agent will go when his own household becomes the target.
Criminal networks dismantled
Before confronting the Rhodes family, Lance dismantled Barnes Real Estate, the Thorn Black Syndicate, and an assassin ring. These prior victories establish his capability against organized opposition. The pattern of targeting criminal enterprises suggests the Rhodes family operates as another organized threat rather than a simple personal dispute.
