Professional undertaker Rael takes a high-paying night security job at the mysterious Museum No. 8 after the previous guard dies under strange circumstances. He discovers the museum's relics come alive after dark and that restoring damaged pieces reseals the demon spirits within them, transferring their power to him. After accidentally reviving a nine-headed snake statue and destroying the S-class demon inside, Rael gains a neck tattoo and enhanced abilities. He survives further attacks from Anubis and Medusa statues, unlocking golden divine eyes. Demon Hunter leader Sarah traces the demons' origin to Merlin Wos and Museum No. 8. Rael is promoted to A-class hunter and learns the museum is a pentagram-sealed tomb built a century ago by Merlin and six guardians. With the guardians' power fading and seals breaking, Rael abandons escape and commits to completing the restoration work needed to end the crisis.
