During a catastrophic deep freeze, Jaylen delivers Thanksgiving provisions to his girlfriend Vanessa, only to be ambushed, dismembered, and cannibalized by her and a man named Ryan before being left to freeze. He awakens twelve hours earlier with full memory of the slaughter. Jaylen immediately borrows heavily to stockpile supplies and reinforce his home into a sealed fortress. He rescues Melissa and Heidi, two women who had previously shown him kindness, bringing them inside for safety.
