After a drunken night leaves beauty counter worker Mia in the bed of wealthy heir Ethan, she flees at dawn and abandons her grandmother's daisy brooch. Ethan, who has watched her secretly for three months, fabricates a missing cufflink to blackmail her into posing as his girlfriend at a critical family banquet. At the event, Ethan's mother Victoria recognizes the brooch as the symbol of a landmark female workers' rights lawsuit she won alongside Mia's grandmother thirty years earlier. Mia's authentic charm impresses the guests, drawing hostility from Lydia. Victoria exposes Ethan's deception and hires Mia as a beauty consultant, where her data-driven insight into foundation shade gaps earns praise. When Lydia attacks Mia's humble background, Ethan publicly defends her and confesses his admiration for her self-reliance, leading to a mutual declaration of affection as a multi-generational connection surfaces.
