Elizabeth, the trueborn daughter of House Eryn, returns from rural obscurity only to be scapegoated by her relatives. As she crosses the border wearing the Witch's Heart pendant, she warns that her agony will rebound as a curse. The threat manifests instantly: she reincarnates as a black-robed witch and forces her family to endure every torment she suffered.
