Lucy shielded her twin Ryan during a childhood car crash, yet their grandmother harvested one of Lucy's kidneys and cast her aside. Linda rescued the girl and raised her as Kate. A decade later, Kate confronts Morgan Group to secure money for Linda's treatment, only to be rejected by her birth mother Susan and Ryan, who still view her as a spare organ source. Duke identifies Kate through a distinctive ring and surgical scars, but childhood friend Ashley preempts the revelation by fabricating scars and DNA to pose as the lost heiress. Meanwhile, the real Lucy lies restrained on an operating table, a scalpel poised at her remaining kidney, while Jack races with genuine DNA evidence and Duke attempts to breach the room.
