True heiress Talia Lane endures years of covert sabotage from foster sister Sabine, who keeps herself slender while deliberately fattening Talia with high-calorie meals. At Talia's debut ball, fiancé Beckett publicly shames her weight, ends their engagement, and immediately proposes to Sabine. Devastated, Talia flees into the rain and encounters Ronan Vale, the city's most powerful billionaire. They agree to a contract marriage that gives Talia the means to expose Sabine's lies and theft while resisting retaliation from her ex-fiancé and foster sister. As their arrangement deepens, Ronan's long-buried feelings surface, revealing Talia once saved him as a lonely boy. She reclaims her dignity and discovers a love that actively chooses her.
