After serving time for defending his girlfriend Hannah Grant, food vendor Keith Drake is mentored in prison by the enigmatic elder Trevor Vaughn, who engineers his early release. Once free, Keith uses Vaughn's hidden network to dismantle the Rogueville thugs hunting him, staging a daring rescue with the help of ride-hail drivers. Vaughn then appoints Keith as acting president of the Redwood Council, a flashy decoy designed to flush out their rival, Carlos Bigsby. The ruse succeeds in exposing Bigsby's power grab.
