Archangel Uriel has spent ten years disguised as the Whitmore estate gardener, maintaining a magical seal on the shape-splitting demon Grot while covertly tutoring Iris, the family's most magically gifted daughter, to become the next guardian before the Blood Moon offers a chance to destroy the creature permanently. When patriarch Edmund dies, his ruthless heirs exploit the inheritance dispute to publicly degrade Uriel. Cedric, desperate to conceal his own prior pact with Grot, destroys the will's warning, frames Uriel for murder, and secures his condemnation at a council trial where he is tied to a stake. In the holy fire, Uriel reveals his six-winged archangel form, declares the guardian covenant broken, and departs with his divine power. That night the Blood Moon rises, the seal shatters, and hordes of demon clones surge forth. Iris defends the estate using the magic Uriel taught her, while Uriel discovers Grot has spent the decade generating countless copies that must all be destroyed before the moon sets, forcing the two onto the same battlefield.
